All students enrolled in our academic program are required to complete an academic assessment with our Director in August. Once registered, you will receive an email with scheduling information to determine the most convenient time and date.

Tuesdays and Thursdays provide a consistent learning environment with the same teacher and classmates, fostering familiarity and friendships. Our engaging, activity-based curriculum, aligned with charter standards, emphasizes hands-on learning and movement. We will celebrate birthdays and host traditional school events, including yearbook photos. Weekly work samples will be sent home. Our learning approach prioritizes fun and engagement.

We are offering Wednesday electives. It's a great way for students to try something new, do something they love, and it's only a semester, new classes are available every semester!

If a teacher suddenly withdraws before the semester begins and we must change electives, you will be notified immediately of that change and presented new options for that hour.

    I understand that I am responsible for communicating with my ES/HST and getting PO's ordered in advance for the following month.
    I understand that if my Charter doesn't pay Sova Learning Academy I am responsible for any portion unpaid.

    Substitute Teacher List

    We are looking to build our Substitute Teacher list from interested parents. This is a paid position and would be on an on-call basis. Livescan, all curriculum and guidance will be provided. 

    A teaching credential is not required to be a subtitute.

    Terms + Conditions

    Curriculum Fees and Deposits:
    I acknowledge and agree that the curriculum fee/deposit is non-refundable.

    Charter School Compliance:
    I understand and accept that it is my sole responsibility to ensure Sova Learning Academy meets the requirements of my child's specific charter school. I further acknowledge that if Sova Learning Academy does not meet such requirements, I will be responsible for all tuition costs incurred, without recourse to charter school funds.

    Field Trips:
    I understand and agree that field trip selections and registrations are separate from this registration form and require independent action.

    Class Cancellations:
    I acknowledge that in the event of a class cancellation due to teacher withdrawal, I will be notified via email and offered an alternative class, subject to availability.

    Musical Theatre Program:
    I understand that registration for the after-school Musical Theatre Program auditions will be communicated and distributed at a later date during the semester.

    Field Trip Liability:
    I acknowledge and agree that Sova Learning Academy assumes no liability for my child, any vehicle, or the vehicle's driver during field trips, including, but not limited to, expenses such as gas costs, or liability arising from accidents or other incidents.

    Facility Usage and Cancellations:
    I understand that Sova Learning Academy utilizes rented space from St. Matthew's Church. I acknowledge that school days may be subject to cancellation due to scheduling conflicts. I further understand that I will receive notification of any such cancellations via email /BAND at least two weeks in advance.

    Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures:
    I understand that student drop-off commences at 8:15 AM and pick-up begins at 2:20 PM.
    I acknowledge that a valid security badge is required for student pick-up.
    I understand that student pick-up must occur no later than 2:45 PM.

    Tuition and Proration:
    I acknowledge and agree that tuition is non-prorated. I understand that I am responsible for the full monthly tuition amount, regardless of the number of classes my child attends.
    Textbook Ownership and Rental:
    I acknowledge and agree that all textbooks are the exclusive property of Sova Learning Academy Inc.

    I understand that my child will be granted a temporary rental of a specific textbook assigned to them for the duration of the semester.

    I understand that all rented textbooks must be returned to Sova Learning Academy Inc. at the end of the semester. In the event of early withdrawal by my child, all rented textbooks must be returned within three (3) calendar days of the child's last day of attendance. I acknowledge that these textbooks are core instructional materials and are distinct from consumable workbooks.

    Consumable Workbooks:
    I understand that my child will receive consumable workbooks, which are intended for student use and will be distributed home on designated days. I acknowledge that completed worksheets from these workbooks will be sent home with my child on Thursdays.

    Liability for Lost, Damaged, or Unreturned Textbooks:
    I acknowledge and agree that I am financially responsible for any lost, damaged, or unreturned textbooks. I understand that I will be invoiced for the full replacement cost of any such textbook.

    Collection of Unpaid Textbook Fees:
    I understand that failure to pay the invoiced textbook replacement fee within sixty (60) days of the invoice date will result in the debt being referred to a third-party collection agency for further collection action.
    Property Damage Liability Waiver
    I, as the parent/guardian, acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions regarding property damage:

    Prohibition of Property Damage: My child is prohibited from intentionally or negligently damaging, defacing, or destroying any property belonging to Sova Learning Academy Inc. or St. Matthew's Church, including but not limited to buildings, grounds, furniture, equipment, and supplies.

    Liability for Damage: I understand and agree that I am financially responsible for any damage caused by my child to the property of Sova Learning Academy Inc. or St. Matthew's Church.

    Assessment of Damages: In the event of property damage caused by my child, Sova Learning Academy Inc. or St. Matthew's Church, as applicable, will assess the damage and determine the full cost of replacement or repair. This assessment will be final and binding.

    Specific Equipment Liability: I acknowledge that damage to specialized equipment, including but not limited to pianos, tables, televisions, and other electronic devices, will result in full liability for the cost of repair or replacement.

    School Supplies: While Sova Learning Academy Inc. provides all necessary school supplies, I understand that these supplies must be treated with respect and used appropriately. I am responsible for any intentional or negligent damage to these supplies caused by my child.

    Payment Responsibility: I agree to pay the full cost of replacement or repair as invoiced by Sova Learning Academy Inc. or St. Matthew's Church within 30 days of the invoice date.

    Collection of Unpaid Fees: I understand that failure to pay the invoiced amount within the specified timeframe will result in the debt being referred to a third-party collection agency for further collection action.

    Entire Agreement: This waiver constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.  

    Severability: If any provision of this waiver is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

    Governing Law: This waiver shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California.

    Modification: Sova learning academy retains the right to modify this agreement as needed.

    Acknowledgement and Agreement:
    I have read, understood, and agree to the terms and conditions of this Property Damage Liability Waiver.
    Student Code of Conduct Acknowledgment and Agreement:
    I, as the parent/guardian, acknowledge that I have read and will review the Student Code of Conduct with my child. I agree to the following terms and conditions on behalf of my child:

    Student Conduct Standards:
    Respect for Authority: My child will demonstrate respect towards all teachers, teacher's assistants, and volunteer instructors.
    Physical Conduct:
    My child will maintain appropriate physical boundaries and refrain from any physical contact that could be considered harmful or aggressive.
    I understand that any act of hitting, kicking, spitting, or similar physical aggression will result in an immediate notification to the parent/guardian and immediate dismissal of my child for the remainder of the school day.
    I understand that a first and second offense of physical aggression will result in my child being sent home. A third offense will result in my child's exit from the program for the remainder of the semester.
    Language and Communication: My child will refrain from using inappropriate language, including but not limited to profanity, vulgarity, and offensive humor, and will avoid discussions of inappropriate topics. The determination of what constitutes inappropriate language or topics shall be at the sole discretion of Sova Learning Academy staff.
    Safe Conduct: My child will engage in safe behavior at all times, including refraining from unsafe activities such as climbing on furniture, improper use of restroom facilities, and running or tumbling within the building.
    Participation and Effort: My child will make a conscientious effort to participate in all activities and will approach new experiences with a positive attitude.
    Code of Conduct Enforcement:
    I understand that violations of the Student Code of Conduct will be addressed through the following disciplinary procedures:
    First and second violations will result in verbal warnings.
    Subsequent violations may result in a time-out period.
    Repeated or severe violations, excluding those outlined in section 2a/2b, will result in notification to the parent/guardian.
    I acknowledge that Sova Learning Academy prioritizes the safety and well-being of all students and staff. I understand that these disciplinary procedures are in place to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.

    Modification Clause:
    Sova Learning Academy reserves the right to modify this Student Code of Conduct at any time. Parents/guardians will be notified of any changes via email or other official communication channels. Continued enrollment after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Code of Conduct.
